Working On the Farm

Picture
Every person in Colonial Lexington lived on a farm. The average farm size was 65 acres. This means that most peoples farms were about this big. Every farm produced what the family needed to survive. If the family wanted or needed other things they had to buy them in shops in bigger cities like Boston or Salem. Family members worked on the farm year round because each season brought different work that needed to be done.
